The ADC Festival is finally taking place again - after two years of abstinence, the Art Directors Club for Germany (ADC) is putting on a live program: in Hamburg, visitors can take part in the award shows as well as the ADC Congress. There is also a varied and free online program.

Ideas create reality
This year's festival motto pays homage to the idea. Without ideas there is no innovation, without ideas there is no creativity - and because they all originate in the mind, the campaign calls it the "most fertile place in the world". The ADC Festival sees itself as a place where good ideas are appreciated, where they can grow and be supported by others. From May 17 to 20 - live in Hamburg - it will provide plenty of inspiring input, courage and networking with other idea generators.

The ADC jury meets in advance
From Tuesday, May 17 to Thursday, May 19, the 435 jury members will meet in Hamburg's Volksparkstadion to view and evaluate the several thousand submissions. This year's chairwomen are Rosie Bardales (Chief Creative Officer and Partner at BETC London) for the ADC competition and Betty Schimmelpfennig (Professor of Crossmedia Design at RheinMain University of Applied Sciences and Founder and Managing Partner at Elastique) for the ADC Talent Award.
On May 19, the ADC Congress will begin at 10 a.m. with top international creatives sharing their insights on how they and other creatives are using the power of their ideas to positively influence what is happening in the world - more important than ever right now.

The ADC Congress with over 15 international speakers
How do ideas influence societal, social and political conditions? This is what the keynotes at the ADC Congress are all about. The headliner is Oriini Kaipara, a New Zealand journalist and campaigner for diversity, who uses her fearless approach to promote a positive bicultural New Zealand society and Māori customs. Also on stage will be Susan Credle, Global Partner and Chief Creative Officer worldwide at FCB, and Laetitia Ky, political activist, influencer and hair sculpture artist from the Ivory Coast, who uses her art to ask socially relevant questions.
Other panelists include journalist and filmmaker Liz Gomis, Lucas Crigler, Creative Director SS+K New York and member of the Board of Diversity and Inclusion for Ad Age, Mexican director Karen Gómez, and Jordanian serious game developers Sham and Jana AlBdour. What all the panels have in common is that they are all about courage and brilliant ideas. All information about the line-up and the program can be found here.

Saving the best for last: The ADC Award Shows
The absolute highlight is of course the announcement of the winners, who will take home the coveted ADC nails and Grand Prix. The ADC Talent Award Show will take place on Thursday, May 19, followed by the ADC Award Show on Friday, May 20. Both events will be shown live as public viewing as well as via YouToube. This way, all participants can join in the excitement from anywhere - and perhaps share in the joy for their work or their team.
