We are Christine Moosmann, Sonja Pham, Tobias Holzmann and Christian Meier. Together we form Phoenix Verlag für Grafikdesign.
For many years, we were the graphics and editorial team of novum - World of GraphicDesign, a magazine that was founded in 1924 and was one of the world's leading special interest publications for design. In 2020, we finally fulfilled our dream and founded our own magazine: Grafikmagazin.
As a special interest magazine, Grafikmagazin reports on trends and developments in communication design, showcases outstanding work from around the world and supports creative professionals in their daily work. However, it is important to us not only to show beautiful images, but also to make the people and processes behind the work visible.
We show how projects are created, from the first customer meeting to the release. We are interested in very tangible things such as font selection, design concept or print production, but we also want to know what motivates creative people, how they find ideas and how they make themselves fit for the future. We present brandings for large clients, but also small pro bono projects or initiatives that use design to make the world a little better. In discussions with design researchers, professors, young designers and innovative companies and thought leaders, we find out how the industry is developing and what will be relevant tomorrow.
Inspiration doesn't work in a linear way. Sometimes, a lovingly designed book gives us new ideas; sometimes, a cool UX design does the trick. At Grafikmagazin, we present the full diversity of communication design, carefully researched and curated by our editorial team. What drives us is our passion for good design and our curiosity about an industry that moves so fast and is constantly reinventing itself. With Grafikmagazin, we also stand for care, reliability and craftsmanship because we believe that quality makes all the difference - in journalism, design, and communication.

The Grafikmagazin is first and foremost a print magazine. At a time when everything is becoming ever faster and more digital, things that appeal to all our senses are all the more valuable.
