A little late for Christmas, but winter is still here - enchanting wool scarves to make yourself from Woollaa.
A glitch gave designers Friederike and Florian Pfeffer the idea that knitting machines can also be individually programmed via the Internet, allowing them to produce unique knitwear. They put their idea into practice under the name Woollaa and now offer woollen scarves for children and adults as well as cushion covers and baby blankets online.
The Woollaa collection includes various motifs created by designers such as Zipeng Zhou, Peter Bilak or the Hort, as well as motifs that can be customized. The Woollaazoo for children, for example, offers a selection of different animals, you can also choose the colors and immortalize yourself with your name. If you like it even more individual, you can upload your own graphic and create a woollen scarf that nobody else is guaranteed to have.
It's a lot of fun and the results are really impressive. And the whole thing is also sustainable: the wool is sourced from Italy in cooperation with Wolle Rödel, production takes place in the East Westphalian province and as each scarf is only made to order, there is no overproduction and nothing is thrown away.
A great idea that inspired us.
