What is actually hidden behind the light switch? How do you experience what nobody can see? The Cologne-based design agency Feedmee has now brought the inner world of home technology to life in a completely new way with its trade fair film for the "Gira One" smart home system.
The "Gira One" smart home system offers a modern operating aid for technology within your own four walls. Whether light or shade control, music, temperature or security systems - everything can be easily controlled via an app or a control center. These concepts are nothing new, but this time the visual presentation is.
Similar offers are usually presented with a very technically adept design, which Feedmee wanted to counteract with the concept for this trade fair film: Instead of focusing on dry product details, the viewer is skillfully invited into a world of emotions that illuminates a completely different, but definitely relevant side of home technology: Ambience and customization.
The film begins with a shot of a light switch before the viewer is introduced to "The world behind the switch". This is followed by scenes in a dynamic and minimalist style that use abstract motifs as well as light and shadow effects to reflect the "Gira One" range. Each function of the program is given its own stage and is intended to look like an art installation. In just over two minutes, the film takes you through a variety of atmospheric images that leave an impression. If you would like to see the result in full length, you can access the project here. Although this marketing strategy is completely different to what seems usual for the industry, it proves that good images and a sensitive ambience are often much more memorable. The film was also able to score points with this at the ADC Award 2023 - and received a bronze nail.
