In a phase that made the usual business and vacation trips almost impossible, the Makers Bible team turned their attention to what was right under their noses: Their own city and its creative craftspeople.
In the tradition of its three predecessor books "Beetroot & Steel", "The Alps" and "Human Space", the latest work "Munich - Handmade Quality" presents a wonderful cross-section of accomplished makers and crafters. And because the Bavarian capital also has many other talented craftspeople, these categories have been expanded to include hosts, restaurateurs and all kinds of traders from the respective districts, with a total of 123 traditional and innovative protagonists in the lovingly designed printed work.
At the beginning of the first lockdown, the slogan "Support your local retailer" made the rounds nationwide and campaigned for the preservation of smaller stores, stores and cafés in the immediate neighborhood. The Makers Bible is adding to this desire to support your own city instead of large online providers and discounters and hopes that long-established Munich residents will also discover new addresses for themselves. It's not just about supporting your favorite baker and hairdresser - the book is intended to encourage people to explore and discover places they didn't know about before. An adventure in your own city, so to speak.
The Makers Bible exists both in high-quality book form and online. Both formats are based on a manifest passion for quality, passion and craftsmanship, which the products of the respective "Makers & Crafters" always bear witness to. Whether it's Kunstgießerei München, Cocii Jewelry, VOR Shoes, Boulangerie Dompierre or the Fliegenkopf hand-setting workshop - the Makers Bible team and selected curators have focused on traditional manufactories with a sustainable approach that either source raw materials and ingredients locally or whose products are particularly durable and recyclable. Companies whose concepts inspire and whet the appetite for collector's and collector's items.
Speaking of collector's items: The Makers Bible is of course a wonderful Christmas present for Munich residents and travelers to Munich as well as friends of honest craftsmanship and good taste in general. Click here to go to the store.
