These intergalactic-looking CBD products give their consumers a cosmic kick-start and good feelings. They come in the form of soft gums and cosmetic products to which their creator Andrea Gercken ascribes true superpowers. She developed them to combat sleepless nights, stress and bad moods. The appropriate design in the night sky look comes from Studio Nüe.
In the midst of the pandemic, Andrea Gercken saw the need for a product that provides restful nights on the one hand and equips you for demanding days on the other. "Overall, people are probably more sleepless, anxious and depressed than ever before," she estimates - partly because she herself suffered from insomnia for the first time in her life. "Until then, sleep was my superpower. I am someone who is always on the go during the day and I desperately need restful nights." The plant substance CBD from female hemp, which is said to have anticonvulsant, anxiolytic and stimulating effects, helped her. On the one hand, it led her back to restful nights and, on the other hand, demonstrably more relaxed days with more energy. "My idea was to have these superpowers with me in bite size whenever I needed them."
Like many other trends, the CBD hype has taken a while to gain a foothold in Germany and Gercken is certainly not the first to recognize a recognizable benefit and a gap in the market. But the fact that her product Princess Stardust stands out is not only due to its attractive appearance, for which she commissioned communication designer Linda Nübling from Studio Nüe. It was just as important to her that she produced something that had a real effect. "There are quite a few CBD products on the German market that contain junk," she laughs. When producing Princess Stardust products, she places the highest value on quality: "Trust and transparency are the fixed stars of my universe."
The appearance of Princess Stardust reveals a digital-savvy expertise in branding. No wonder, as Andrea Gercken previously worked as a consultant and digital strategist for brands such as Google Pixel, Adidas and various spirits brands such as Belsazar and Stork Club. The fact that she is now devoting all her energy to her galactic company Princess Stardust fits perfectly into her design-heavy portfolio. "Everything I do is dedicated to a special kind of lifestyle that aims to make brands part of a pop culture."
The Princess Stardust product range contains a mixture of natural CBD and various vitamins. "Sleep" gently guides you through the night with melatonin, vitamin C and a fresh peppermint flavor. "Energy" helps with B12, caffeine and a fresh pineapple-ginger flavor through exorbitant projects that require concentration. According to Gercken, the "Relax" variety is intended for days when you "would like to shoot for the moon: endless to-dos, a rollercoaster of thoughts, energy levels in free fall - your nerves are on the verge of a big bang." It contains vitamin C, B12, B6, B1 and tastes of fresh grapefruit. The ingredients used meet the highest industry standards. "There are more varieties in the pipeline, but with the first batch I want to see if there really is a demand for it," says Andrea Gercken.
Other cosmetic products are also being planned, which she sees as a logical conclusion: "Our body and mind together form a solar system that cannot be separated," says Gercken. The brand's first skincare product is a detox mask that detoxifies with valuable ingredients. CBD and antioxidants soothe and combat irritated or inflamed skin.
