The book features artwork by Andy Warhol, fashion photographs, and even Super Mario. The images by Bobby Doherty and Ben Toms are particularly striking and can be found throughout the book. "All mushrooms are edible, but some only once," Terry Pratchett once said. This volume can be consumed again and again, as this opulent homage to mushrooms offers many mysterious stories and recipes. Grafikmagazin Gourmand's Mushroom Cookbook

The first part contains not only culinary history, but also scientific articles on the toxicity of mushrooms, myths and legends, and an article on the graphic world of Takashi Murakami, who also translates his graphics into 3D models. In keeping with the principle of "form follows fungi," furniture and fashion design are presented in connection with mushrooms.

The recipe section includes starters and main courses, from classics such as mushroom risotto to old-fashioned mushroom ketchup or making mushroom powder, offering creative ideas for autumn cuisine. Of course, different varieties are also used in cooking, such as enoki, portobello, shiitake, and porcini mushrooms.
