The Berlin University of Applied Sciences (BHT) is offering a new Master's degree program from October 2025: Transformation Design & Print.
The Berlin University of Applied Sciences (BHT) is expanding its range of courses with the innovative Master's degree program "Transformation Design & Print". The four-semester course, which ends with a Master of Engineering (M.Eng.) degree, will start for the first time in the winter semester 2025/2026.
The interdisciplinary and project-oriented Master's course combines design, technology and sustainability in order to shape the media world in a future-oriented way. Students develop visionary designs, research sustainable materials and design future-proof processes.
The course focuses on cross-media projects to solve technical, social and ecological challenges in order to shape the future. Students acquire skills to develop sustainable design strategies and innovative concepts.
A particular feature of the "Transformation Design & Print" degree course is its strong practical orientation. In the first three semesters, students work in interdisciplinary teams on practical projects, often in cooperation with NGOs, non-profit associations or leading institutions. Graduates open up a wide range of career opportunities with media service providers, consulting firms, communications agencies and companies in the print and online sectors. The degree also qualifies graduates for management positions in the design of transformation processes.
"In the professional world, it has been shown time and again that designers who also have marketing and technical skills have a clear advantage," says Professor Franziska Loh, who played a key role in the creation of the new degree program. "It is precisely this versatility that we want to further promote in the Master's program. Our aim is to qualify students for an interdisciplinary way of working in which strategy, design and implementation are closely linked. We see technology as an innovative element that opens up new creative possibilities - and we take this to a new level under the guiding principle of "transformation"."
